SwiftSkills MCP server

Search the SwiftSkills catalog from Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex. The server exposes four read-only tools over Streamable HTTP and does not require an account.

Endpoint
Send MCP requests to https://swiftskills.dev/mcp. The server is stateless. A response does not require a session.

These four tools are the ones the server registers. Names, descriptions, and parameters come from those definitions.

Install
Claude Code
Add the remote server from the terminal. In a project .mcp.json, "type": "http" is required. An entry with a URL and no type is read as stdio and skipped.
Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http swiftskills https://swiftskills.dev/mcp.mcp.json
{
"mcpServers": {
"swiftskills": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://swiftskills.dev/mcp"
}
}
}Cursor
Put this in ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project, or in .cursor/mcp.json for one project. A url is a remote server.
mcp.json
{
"mcpServers": {
"swiftskills": {
"url": "https://swiftskills.dev/mcp"
}
}
}Codex
A url in ~/.codex/config.toml means Streamable HTTP. The CLI writes the same entry.
config.toml
[mcp_servers.swiftskills]
url = "https://swiftskills.dev/mcp"Terminal
codex mcp add swiftskills --url https://swiftskills.dev/mcpRate limit
Each running instance accepts 60 requests per minute. The next request in that window gets HTTP 429 and a Retry-After header. The count stays in that instance's memory. A new instance starts at zero. The limit belongs to that instance.
Privacy
Request contents are not logged, and the server sends no telemetry of its own. Links in tool results include utm_source=mcp and utm_medium=tool. The privacy policy describes the endpoint, including the in-memory rate limit.
Catalog file
The same public catalog is also one JSON document at /api/catalog.json. That address is a GET file, not the MCP endpoint.
